Koios
Gaia ile Uranus'ün oğlu olan Titan Koios zeka, sorgulama ve öngörü sembolüdür. Bilgi ve Bilgelik tanrısı olarak kabul edilmiştir.
Eşi, kardeşi "parlayan" Phoebe'dir ve Leto ve Asteria (Asterie)'nın anne babalarıdırlar.
Soyağacına göre daha sonra Leto, babaları Zeus olan Artemis ve Apollon'u doğurmuştur.
Söylendiğine göre Kronos babasının hayalarını keserken dört kardeşi de dünyanın (Gaia) dört köşesini tutmuşlardır. Bu dört kardeş dünya (Gaia) ile göğü (Uranus) birbirinden ayıran dört sütundur. Koios'un payına kuzey düşmüştür. Bu nedenle kimi zaman kuzey kutbu anlamına gelen Polos olarak da adlandırılır.
Gök cisimlerinin etrafında döndüğü gökyüzünün eksenini elinde tutan ve kontrol eden tanrı olduğu söylenir. Gerek kendisinin, gerek seçtiği eşin (Phoebe) gerekse de torunun (Apollo) mitolojide kehanet ile ilişkilendirilmeleri büyük olasılıkla bu göksel nitelikten kaynaklanmaktadır.

Coeus (also Koios)
Titan Coues, the son of Gaea and Uranus, was the symbol of intelligence, questioning and farsightedness. He was known as the Titan of Knowledge and Wisdom.
His wife was his sister the 'shining' Phoebe and they were the parents of Leto and Asteria.
Further down the genealogy, Leto gave birth to Artemis and Apollo with Zeus as their father.
It is said that while Kronos castrated Uranus, four of his siblings were at hold of the four corners of the world (Gaia).Those four siblings stands for the pillars that keep the earth (Gaia) and the sky (Uranus) apart and Coeus was the pillar of the north. For that reason sometimes he is called as Polos, which means the north pole.
He was believed to be the god who is the withholder and the controller of the celestial axis around which the heavens revolve. The reason of his, his chosen wife's (Phoebe) and his grandson's (Apollo) relatedness in mythology with oracles were most probably originated from this heavenly aspect.
